The Stockton Concert Band extends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of one of our members, Bruce Stuart.

Bruce was a retired educator, community leader, and philanthropist who traveled with us to New York City in March 2007, and conducted Frank Ticheli’s “An American Elegy” at Carnegie Hall. A professional musician (trombone) and piano tuner, Bruce served as the Director of the Brentwood Community Band, as well as President of Local 189 of the American Federation of Musicians.

Bruce died suddenly on June 24, 2008, at the age of 58, leaving his wife, Sue, and sons Ian and Jeff.
