The Stockton Concert Band will resume rehearsals on January 19, 2010, meeting Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in Holt Center Room 113 at San Joaquin Delta College, 5151 Pacific Avenue, Stockton. Bring your instrument and plan to arrive early in order to find a parking place!
In order to be a member of the Band, you must register for the Spring 2010 semester via San Joaquin Delta College’s online registration program. If you have not previously enrolled in a Delta College class or more than two semesters have elapsed since you last attended the college, you must reapply for admission following the step-by-step directions set forth on Delta’s website. NOTE: Due to budget reductions, applications for admission will not be accepted until January 12, 2010.
After you have completed the application process or, if you are a continuing student, you must enroll in one of two classes: If you would like to receive one unit of college credit and a letter grade (A — F), register for Music 028 (Course No. 72471). If you prefer to audit the course and not receive college credit (you may earn a maximum of four credits), register for Music 128 (Course No. 59369). ALL members of the Carnegie Hall-bound ensemble must be enrolled — no exceptions can be granted. NOTE: Due to budget reductions, registration will close on December 18, 2009, reopen on January 12, 2010, and close again on January 14, 2010.
High school students, please note: You are invited to be a member of the Stockton Concert Band and earn one unit of credit from Delta College, but you must be concurrently enrolled in your high school’s band and obtain permission from both your principal and high school band director. Mr. Holton will provide you with the required forms at the first rehearsal. It is your responsibility to obtain those individuals’ signatures and return the completed forms to Mr. Holton.
